Project-IT joins Fellowmind Group and eCraft

As of 4 June 2021, Project-IT, which specialises in project management outsourcing, will become a part of eCraft, Fellowmind Group’s Finnish company. Project-IT is a leading IT project and architecture service provider, and through the acquisition the company’s skilled professionals will join eCraft’s team of 400 experts in Finland. In addition to Finland, Fellowmind Group operates with its 1,650 experts in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. Together, eCraft and Project-IT will strengthen eCraft’s Advisor business unit, which consists of senior management advisors and experienced business consultants. Vinssi, a network for independent IT consultants, will remain an important part of Project-IT’s business. One of the objectives of the acquisition is to start growing this network significantly in the future.

Project-IT experts join eCraft’s Advisor business

eCraft aims to be a strategic partner for its customers and be at the core of their business when it comes to business solutions, digital services or data-driven business. In the transaction, Project-IT’s experts will become part of eCraft’s Advisor business, which consists of senior management advisors and the most experienced business consultants in their field. For the time being, Project-IT will remain a business name and Project-IT experts will continue to serve customers as usual.

“High-quality project management, agile development, testing management and architecture are part of our core business, and with the help of the Project-IT professionals we can strengthen our services in these areas. In particular, we will expand our services in the areas of change management, data strategy and the use of artificial intelligence, and this transaction is part of our growth strategy in these areas. Our community is growing with a group of experienced professionals that we want to take good care of. I want to warmly welcome all Project-IT experts to our team,” says Ville Hemmilä, Regional Director of eCraft in Finland, part of Fellowmind.

“I am very happy that a new home has been found for Project-IT as part of the international Fellowmind Group and that we are joining the eCraft family here in Finland. By combining our expertise, we can offer a wider range of services and highly skilled IT and business consulting experts. This is a great next step for Project-IT, and I leave the company that Jussi Pietilä and I founded 14 years ago with great confidence in safe hands,” says Project-IT CEO Antti Hellberg.

IT expert work in the transformation – Independent consulting work offers a wide range of opportunities for experts and comprehensive services for customers

In the future, expert work will emphasise the freedom to choose the best form of work for each individual, and therefore more and more experts are interested in working as independent consultants. Project-IT’s expert network, Vinssi, consists of 600 project management, change management and IT architecture professionals and offers customers the opportunity to outsource some of their development work or project management to Vinssi’s experienced professionals. The aim of the transaction is to enable the Vinssi network to grow into Finland’s leading network of IT professionals.

“The Vinssi expert network offers customers the opportunity to buy independent, external expert advice as part of the company’s own team on large-scale IT and development projects. In the future, we will be able to offer Vinssi’s professionals extensive training and development opportunities through our eCraft Academy, which we use as a platform to continuously train our own experts. Our goal is to expand the network significantly to become Finland’s leading network of independent experts,” Hemmilä says.

“I am excited about the new opportunities for Vinssi network that will be made possible by this transaction. We are already a major player in Finland, but in the future we can also grow internationally through Fellowmind. The well-functioning basic concept of our network will remain as it is, meaning we will continue to provide experts for broader IT and development projects,” says Jali Häkkilä, the head of Vinssi network.

The transaction entered into force at the time of signature. The parties have agreed that the purchase price will not be made public.
